Green Filly (AKA Paula Biddle)
Paula is an ex-jockey and like me is a keen trader. She writes about a variety of topics almost all are racing connected in some way.
Great gambling and trading resource.
Sports Betting Arbitrage and Matched Betting.
Ryan Bruno has written an depth article on arbitrage which is how I first got into trading on Betfair via “Matched Betting” and Free bet offers.
Matched betting is a sure fire way to win money from bookmakers via risk free bets where you win whether your bet with the bookie wins or not. This is done by “laying” the bet through a betting exchange. This means you are betting on heads with the bookie and tails with the exchange.
That way if you have a positive difference with the prices then you win either way. The positive difference on the prices is called “arbitrage” and you can do it equally well if the odds are in your favour as long as you are using “free bets” via bookmaker sign up offers.
